Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders will face off against each other at the Chepauk Stadium on Tuesday. Chennai come into this game following a defeat against Deccan Chargers and with just two victories away from home; Chennai will be pleased to be playing Kolkata at home. Their inconsistency is being attributed to the poor form of their local players. None of them have been able to make mark in this edition of IPL and Chennai batting has been mostly dependent on Matthew Hayden, Suresh Raina and Murali Vijay. The likes of Michael Hussey and Albie Morkel have so far failed to impress with their performances and Chennai would hope that they come with the good bat in Tuesday’s game.
On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders’ batting looks ominous with the top order in splendid form. Skipper Sourav Ganguly, Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum are all amongst the runs, but their middle order has been their undoing. Even though the runs have come at the top of the innings, the middle order has let Kolkata down in a number of games, including the last one and which led to the skipper even commenting that he was surprised some of the young guys were trying to make a career in cricket playing like that.
